What to do as a marketer with a 1000 USD monthly budget for LinkedIn Ads?

You’re certainly not alone. Many small SMBs between 10 and 20 employees (mainly within Tech) work with such a marketing budget for LinkedIn Ads.

For you, it's so crucial to have a thought-out marketing strategy in order to see results. After all, companies with large budgets can test whatever they want. But you got to make sure that your first campaigns perform from the very start.

So how to go about with such a 1K Budget for LinkedIn Ads?

Before even creating your campaigns you'll want to look into three things:
1. Monthly website visitors: Do you have a fair amount of people coming to your website? You can retarget all your website visitors (not just those that go to your website from LinkedIn!). If not, you need to accept that results will take longer & adapt your strategy.
2. Well-defined ICP: Think about this in terms of company characteristics! (Sector, Company Size, Growing X%). If you don’t have it, then LinkedIn is probably not the right channel.
3. Assets: Look for assets that do well on LinkedIn. Videos, case studies or thought leader articles. Why? People come to the platform to be educated, not to be sold to.

If you check these boxes; it becomes much easier to set up your campaigns such that they perform.

Then go with the following 3 campaigns:
- 30 day window retargeting campaign using Text Ads in order to get as many impressions of your logo, brand and solution as possible.
- 30 day retargeting campaign focusing on social proof & costs of not working with you. Try to use educational assets (case studies, videos etc).
- A 90 day campaign using Thought Leader Ads. This way you can stay in front of them over time and build trust you’re the expert in the field. Share about events, customer stories or advice.

Depending on your unique situation you might want to look into adding a cold campaign, especially if you don't have many website visitors. Or double down on Social Proof if you don't have a dedicated thought leader on LinkedIn.
